Portsmouth Based £57.57 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35 4 Month Contract initially. This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based In Broad Oak, Portsmouth. The Senior Commercial Officer will support the Senior Commercial Manager as a member of the vibrant and highly capable Commercial team within our Simulation and Training business sector, managing and delivering a portfolio of contracts and bids to a range of domestic customers in a dynamic commercial environment.

Knowledge:

  • Previous experience working in a commercial function
  • In depth professional knowledge of Commercial principles, techniques and practices with an understanding of how Commercial roles fit into an organisation as a whole
  • Knowledge of the defence sector with an awareness of international competitors and partners

Skills:

  • 3 years plus commercial experience, ideally in both UK and export defence environments
  • Suitable related experience working within a highly collaborative team environment
  • High degree of customer focus and a commitment to meet deadlines and targets
  • Broad professional knowledge of Commercial principles, techniques and practices and application and understanding of the Commercial role in organisations
  • Good understanding of contract terms, contractual and legal frameworks
