The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of UK corporate tax clients, lead and support a variety of tax projects, provide strategic tax advice, oversee compliance obligations, and build long-term client relationships. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication and relationship management skills, playing a key role in delivering exceptional client service and supporting the continued growth of the practice.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support Partners and Directors with business development initiatives, including proposals, pitches and identifying new client opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to broaden client relationships, add value through additional services and contribute to the continued growth of the Corporate Tax service line.
  • Lead internal knowledge-sharing, technical training and process improvement initiatives.
  • Play an active role in developing team capability, mentoring future leaders and supporting effective succession planning.
  • Take ownership of a portfolio of corporate tax clients, managing relationships and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service.
  • Act as a trusted senior point of contact, developing long-term client relationships through strong technical expertise and commercial understanding.
  • Work closely with Directors and Partners on complex technical matters, strategic advice and high-value client engagements.
  • Lead the delivery and review of high-quality corporate tax compliance work, ensuring accuracy, consistency and full compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Provide senior technical input across advisory engagements, including business structuring, transactions and complex tax planning.
  • Review and oversee work prepared by Managers and Seniors, providing constructive feedback, technical guidance and support to maintain high professional standards.
  • Monitor developments in UK corporate tax legislation and ensure relevant changes are effectively communicated and embedded across the team.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Extensive UK corporate tax experience gained within a professional services environment.
  • Strong technical expertise across corporate tax compliance and advisory, including experience advising owner-managed businesses and complex corporate groups.
  • Proven ability to review, challenge and quality-assure complex corporate tax computations, returns and advisory work.
  • Experienced in acting as a trusted adviser to clients, leading technical discussions and providing clear, commercially focused responses to complex queries.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with a clear understanding of how corporate tax advice can support wider business objectives and strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities effectively.
  • Proven experience coaching, mentoring and developing Managers, Seniors and junior team members.
  • CTA, ACA or equivalent professional qualification.
