Would you like to solve some of the most interesting design challenges in the defence industry today? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join an international defence company at their site in Preston or Warrington on a 12–month contract.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will manage the delivery of engineering and technical activities through the application of process, domain knowledge, and experience. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues, and ensuring the customer is fully briefed and informed of progress.
- Contribute to the Project Safety Assessment process.
- Produce, review, and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation, and technical reports as assigned.
- Evaluate technical issues to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions, including process improvements.
You
To succeed as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you should have experience in a similar position and possess the following skills:
- An engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience supporting the design, construction, operation, refit, or repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities.
- Competence in MathCad, AutoCAD, and Inventor.
Please note that due to the security nature of this role, we can only consider candidates who have lived in the UK in the last 5 years and are eligible for SC clearance.
