We’re seeking talented Control & Instrumentation Engineers to join an advanced manufacturing leader in the Defence industry, working on innovative marine projects. This role offers flexible locations across England, including Barrow-in-Furness, Manchester, Filton (Bristol), Frimley, and Portsmouth, with only bi-weekly visits to the office required.

About the Role

As a C&I Engineer, you will:

  1. Develop functional designs and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for C&I systems in complex propulsion, mechanical, and electrical setups, utilizing Piping & Instrumentation diagrams.
  2. Specify instrumentation for measuring pressure, temperature, flow, and other variables based on specific process conditions.
  3. Define remote functionality for C&I systems, including Human-Machine Interface (HMI), cable management, and interface protocols.
  4. Design solutions that meet a wide range of standards, including functional, safety, defence, British, naval, and nuclear standards.
  5. Assess compliance with non-functional requirements, such as EMC, shock resistance, and material standards.
  6. Produce essential verification evidence and design documents, such as I/O schedules, instrument schedules, cable schedules, and functional design specifications.
  7. Lead and participate in technical design reviews for C&I.
