I am currently recruiting for a Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to join our client at a gas storage facility near Basingstoke. This is an exciting opportunity to work on critical energy infrastructure, supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of control systems within a high-integrity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control and instrumentation systems for gas storage operations
  • Produce and review technical documentation including P&IDs, control philosophies, and loop drawings
  • Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, and electrical engineers
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and system optimisation
  • Participate in hazard studies (e.g., HAZOP, SIL assessments) where required

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in the design of instrumentation and control systems
  • Strong understanding of control system architecture, field instrumentation, and industrial communication protocols
  • Experience working in hazardous area environments
