Job Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles in a safe and compliant manner at all times.
- Complete scheduled trunking and/or long-distance deliveries in line with route plans and customer requirements.
- Carry out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, reporting defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure accurate completion of paperwork, including delivery documentation and tachograph records.
- Follow all relevant road safety rules, company procedures, and legal driving regulations.
- Maintain professional communication with transport office staff and customers where required.
- Secure loads correctly and ensure the vehicle is maintained to a high standard.
- Adhere to working time regulations and ensure tachograph compliance throughout each shift.
Required Skills andamp; Qualifications
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph card.
- Strong knowledge of UK road regulations and safe driving practices.
- Experience driving HGVs with a good understanding of vehicle checks and defect reporting.
- Ability to manage timekeeping and work to delivery schedules reliably.
- Good level of route planning awareness and navigation competence.
- Professional attitude with a focus on customer service and representing the company well.
- Comfortable working independently and maintaining high standards throughout long shifts.
