This full-time, temp-to-perm role pays £13.00 to £14.50 per hour, with hours from Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 16:45, and an early Friday finish at 13:00.

Our client, a local manufacturing company and supplier of soft play and family entertainment centres, are looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Cutter (PVC) to join their team.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for accurately cutting PVC materials to exact specifications, ensuring quality and consistency in every batch.

Attention to detail and ability to follow technical drawings will directly contribute to their production efficiency and product quality.

Duties

  • Interpret cutting lists, work orders, and technical drawings to determine specifications.
  • Measure and mark materials accurately to minimise waste and ensure uniformity.
  • Inspect cut pieces against specifications- checking dimensions, angles, and surface quality.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Label and organise finished pieces for the next stage of production or storage.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a cutter (PVC, plastic, or similar materials) and or measuring experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and cutting specifications.
  • Ability to use a scalpel for cutting PVC.
  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in measurements (metric/imperial).
  • Physical stamina to stand, lift, and handle materials during shifts.
  • Willingness to follow all company policies, including PPE use (gloves, goggles, safety footwear).
  • Basic math skills for calculations and measurements.
