Production Operative (Temporary Ongoing) – Runcorn

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (Rotating shifts: 06:00-14:00 and 13:00-21:00)

Manpower is recruiting Production Operatives to work on a temporary ongoing basis for a well‑established manufacturing client based in Runcorn.

The role may involve various production duties, primarily Batch‑Off Operator and Manufacturing Operator tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Follow shop order instructions to print and label drums accurately.
  • Filter and weigh materials in line with production instructions.
  • Report any quality issues or shortages of finished goods, consumables, or packaging to the Production Manager or Shift Manager as soon as possible.
  • Clean production vessels in preparation for the next manufacturing process.
  • Load pallets safely and store them in the correct locations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and suggesting process improvements.
  • Carry out daily safety checks and maintain responsibility for FLT/Reach truck operation where applicable.
  • Clean and maintain equipment in line with 5S standards.
  • Assist with maintaining daily production audit records.
  • Follow all Health and Safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture within the team.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Production Manager or Shift Manager.

Qualifications

  • Previous production or manufacturing experience (essential).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to work within, Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (desirable).
  • Reach Truck licence (desirable).
