Overview
The Assistant Accountant role is based in Warrington (WA1) and is a full‑time, temporary position, paying between £15 and £20 per hour depending on experience.
The role is 100% office‑based, working Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve supplier invoices, purchase orders and payments.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform finance reconciliations.
- Generate regular financial reports and management information.
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Support external and internal audit requirements by providing documentation and explanations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts.
- Investigate and resolve accounting queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.
- Work closely with colleagues across departments to ensure accurate financial information.
- Completion of ONS surveys.
- Assist the business controller with ad‑hoc finance tasks.
