The Bioresources HGV Tanker Driver – Class 1 / C E position involves transporting sludge products from sewage treatment works to facilities at Bran Sands and Howdon, supporting wastewater operations across the North East. This full‑time, fixed‑term contract runs for three months and requires night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and O‑Licence requirements.
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting in line with DVSA standards.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant vehicle at all times.
- Safely loading and unloading tanker equipment in accordance with Northumbrian Water Health & Safety procedures.
- Promoting and supporting the Everyone Home Safe Everyday culture.
- Driving in a fuel‑efficient and environmentally responsible manner.
- Delivering excellent service whilst representing Northumbrian Water professionally.
What We’re Looking For
Essential requirements
- Full HGV Class 1 (CE) licence.
- Minimum 12 months’ Class 1 driving experience.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of EU Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive.
- Strong commitment to health, safety and compliance.
Desirable
- Tanker driving experience (full training provided if not held).
