Transport Planner role based in Stoke-on-Trent, offered on a full-time, permanent basis through Pertemps. The hourly rate is £15.51.

This position involves producing daily resource schedules to meet customer demands, allocating drivers and vehicles efficiently, and monitoring live operations for real-time service adjustments. You will coordinate driver availability, including leave and agency cover, while liaising with clients and suppliers. Administrative duties, compliance support, and process improvements also feature. Previous planning experience within logistics is essential, alongside strong organisational and communication abilities. The working pattern is full-time hours across the week. Transport Planner We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Transport Planner to join a busy and fast-paced transport operation in Stoke on Trent.

Key Responsibilities of this Transport Planner:

  • Produce and manage daily transport resource plans to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers effectively to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Monitor transport operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain service levels.
  • Manage driver availability, annual leave and agency requirements.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Support transport administration, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all planning activities are carried out in line with company procedures and legislative requirements.

Skills and Experience Required for this Transport Planner:

  • Previous experience within a transport planning or resource planning role.
  • Strong geographical knowledge and route planning capability.
  • Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using TachoMaster and Paragon systems is essential.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with a customer-focused approach.

Details of this Transport Planner role:

  • Hours: Full Time – Rotating Shifts 0600-1400, 0800-1600, 1300-2100, Monday to Friday
  • Pay Rate: £15.51 per hour
  • Temp to Perm Stoke on Trent
