As a Trainee Laser Operator & Packer in Telford, you will join a busy engineering team on a temporary, full-time basis, earning £12.71 per hour.

Your primary duties involve supporting the Laser Operator on the shop floor, where you will finish, inspect, and pack items directly from the laser machine. This hands-on position requires the use of hand tools for polishing and finishing products, demanding careful attention to detail and accuracy. Teamwork is central to this role, as you collaborate closely to maintain production flow.

The working pattern is Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 16:30, and Friday 08:00 to 15:30, with a 30-minute lunch break.

About the role:

  • Inspecting, finishing and polishing products using hand tools
  • Supporting the Laser Operator with day-to-day production tasks
  • Completing job cards and day sheets accurately
  • Reading and understanding engineering drawings
  • Carrying out visual and tolerance checks
  • Boxing and packing products to required standards
  • Keeping your work area clean, tidy and safe
  • Learning laser machine operation for holiday/absence cover
