Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established Chartered Accountancy practice based in North London, which is looking to recruit a Tax Semi-Senior to join its growing tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with practice experience who is looking to develop their technical knowledge, broaden their client exposure and progress their career within a supportive accountancy environment.
The Role
Working closely with the Tax Managers and wider accounts team, you will support a varied portfolio of clients across a range of tax compliance and advisory matters.
Your key responsibilities as the Tax Semi-Senior will include
- Preparing personal and corporation tax returns for a varied portfolio of clients.
- Assisting with the preparation of tax computations and supporting schedules.
- Supporting the team with a range of personal and corporate tax compliance work.
- Assisting with client queries and providing clear, practical responses to routine tax matters.
- Liaising with clients to obtain relevant information and documentation.
- Supporting senior members of the team with more complex tax assignments and ad hoc tax planning matters.
- Keeping client records and tax information up to date and ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines.
- Keeping up to date with changes to UK tax legislation and HMRC requirements.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across accounts and tax to deliver a high-quality service.
- Developing strong client relationships and gaining increasing responsibility as your experience grows.
The successful Tax Semi-Senior will ideally have
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- Good knowledge of personal and/or corporate taxation.
- Experience preparing tax returns and supporting tax compliance assignments.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients.
- Ideally, be ATT qualified or studying towards ATT, ACA or ACCA, although candidates qualified by relevant experience will also be considered.
