Systems Trainer (Durham, £19.79 per hour, full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract) based out of Pity Me with travel across North and South sites, Monday–Friday 8am–4pm.

Working on behalf of Northumbrian Water, you will design and deliver practical instruction on core corporate platforms, notably Maximo and Oracle.

Building strong stakeholder rapport, you will translate complex processes into accessible learning for colleagues, ensuring maximum operational benefit.

This hybrid position suits a proactive communicator adept at simplifying technical content.

You will assess training needs, create materials, and support users across multiple locations.

Prior experience in systems instruction and a valid driving licence are advantageous.

This contract offers steady hours and varied site-based work.

Systems Trainer Hybrid role based out of Pity Me, Durham, with travel across North and South sites Monday–Friday 8am–4pm 12 Month FTC Pertemps are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Northumbrian Water for an experienced and proactive Systems Trainer to join the team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, building strong stakeholder relationships and turning complex systems into practical, easy-to-understand training.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering training across some of Northumbrian Water's most important corporate systems, helping colleagues to use technology effectively and ensuring the business gets the maximum benefit from its systems.

The Role A key focus of the role will be Maximo , alongside Oracle Field Service Cloud (OFS).

While these platforms are critical to day to day operations, there is currently an opportunity to develop a much more structured and consistent training offering.

You will take ownership of designing and delivering engaging training for existing colleagues and, particularly, new starters and new managers.

This will include developing structured induction pathways, setting out what users need to learn, when they need to learn it and the resources available to support them.

Training will be delivered both in groups and on a one-to-one basis.

The role will involve travelling between Northumbrian Water sites across the North and South, with the flexibility to adapt training around different teams and users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver proactive, customer-focused systems training to permanent employees, agency workers and contractors.
  • Develop structured training and induction plans for new starters and managers.
  • Deliver training on key systems including Maximo and Oracle Field Service Cloud.
  • Work with stakeholders across areas including Water, Waste Water, Maintenance and Engineering.
  • Build strong relationships with managers and operational teams to understand training requirements and ensure colleagues attend the relevant training.
  • Coordinate multiple training activities while managing your own workload and deadlines.
  • Develop clear and engaging training materials, guides, videos and other learning resources.
  • Use the relevant booking or learning management system to schedule, update and record training.
  • Respond to system and training queries, providing advice and escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Provide practical feedback and suggestions to improve system functionality and user experience.
  • Produce reports to monitor and support the systems training programme.
  • Participate in and lead project and continuous improvement activities relating to systems training.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with GDPR and relevant company policies.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident working with a diverse range of people and can build credibility quickly with stakeholders at all levels.

You'll need to be comfortable taking ownership of your workload, organising training across multiple teams and sites, and proactively engaging with managers to get people booked onto the training they need.

Experience & Skills

  • Full UK Driving Licence is desirable for ease of travel between sites
  • Experience delivering training to internal and/or external customers.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to explain systems and processes clearly to people with different levels of technical ability.
  • Experience managing multiple activities and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office, particularly for creating professional training materials.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to understand different perspectives and user needs.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and responding to training requirements.
