The Trainee Technician Fitter position based in Swadlincote is a full‑time, minimum six‑month contract offering a salary between £26,000 and £27,000 per annum.
Working Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, you will join the Engineering Division, splitting your time between the workshop and customer sites.
This role suits a mechanically minded individual seeking hands‑on training and mentoring from experienced engineers.
You will learn specialist inspection, maintenance and fitting techniques, developing valuable industry skills.
Role
As a Trainee Technician Fitter, you will work alongside senior engineers to inspect, repair, and maintain industrial equipment.
You will receive full training, including manufacturer courses and ongoing mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with repairing and maintaining equipment on both workshop and customer sites.
- Conduct inspections and execute maintenance tasks under guidance.
- Participate in manufacturer training courses and apply learned techniques.

Experience

- Specialist training on bulk handling equipment, magnetic separators and vibratory feeders will be provided.
Qualifications
Essential
: GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in Maths, English and Science.
Desirable
: Level 1 or Level 2 City & Guilds or BTEC in Engineering or Performing Engineering Operations.
