A company that specialises in electro-mechanical systems for the Automotive / EV industry is seeking to recruit a Cyber Security Engineer (TARA) to work on a contract based in Surrey that is initially scheduled for 6 months.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead the front end of the ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity lifecycle across company products. In this role, you will drive cybersecurity activities from Item Definition and Threat Analysis & Risk Assessment (TARA) through Cybersecurity Goals, Cybersecurity Concepts, and the derivation of system and software cybersecurity requirements. Acting as the technical authority for cybersecurity, you will work closely with OEM customers and collaborate across Systems, Software, Functional Safety, Hardware, Quality, and Programme teams to deliver secure, compliant products throughout the development lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer looking to influence product architecture, customer engagements, and organisational cybersecurity maturity.
Experience
- 5-10+ years in automotive embedded systems, of which 3+ years in automotive cybersecurity roles.
- Deep, practical knowledge of the ISO/SAE 21434 lifecycle and its work products (Item Definition β CS Case).
- Demonstrable TARA delivery experience using recognised methods.
- Strong requirements engineering skills using Polarion or DOORS, including bidirectional traceability across the V-cycle.
- Working knowledge of Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) processes and ISO 26262 co-dependencies (safety-security co-engineering).
- Solid understanding of automotive E/E architectures, communication buses and typical attack surfaces.
- Architectural understanding of cryptographic primitives, PKI, key lifecycle and secure boot concepts.
- Working knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic security architecture.
