A Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager is sought by a long-established firm of chartered project consultants in County Durham.
This permanent position offers a salary between £50,000 and £60,000, supplemented by a pension and bonus package.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- The successful candidate will deliver cost management across a varied portfolio spanning public and private sectors, including hospitals, schools, universities, leisure centres, offices, and regeneration schemes.
- Working full-time, you will handle pre- and post-contract duties.
- Applicants should be MRICS-qualified with at least four years’ experience within a UK PQS practice.
- Clear progression to Associate level exists for those demonstrating commercial acumen and leadership.
- You will also need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or similar.
- You should be able to run your own projects with minimal supervision.
- Ideally you will also be able to supervise less experienced QSs.
- You need to have experience of all pre and post contract work including cost planning, cost estimating, cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- You should have used JCT contracts.
- You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.
Salary is in the region of £40000 to £60000 negotiable plus benefits including professional fees, pension, health cash plan, bonus etc.
