Are you an experienced Electrical & Control Design Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge subsea technology? We're supporting a market-leading engineering organisation at the forefront of remotely operated subsea vehicle development and are looking for a talented engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract.
Location: Newcastle
Contract Details:
- £45-£55 per hour
- Outside IR35
- Initial 6-month contract with potential extension
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design, develop, test, and commission advanced electrical and control systems for world-class subsea vehicles and equipment.
- Take ownership of projects throughout the full engineering lifecycle, from concept and specification through to commissioning, customer acceptance, and field support.
- Develop and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions while supporting electrical system integration activities.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and software engineers to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
- Drive improvements in system performance, reliability, and maintainability across a range of exciting projects.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in electrical and control system design.
- Strong PLC programming experience, ideally with Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley platforms.
- Experience with HMI and SCADA development.
- Ability to work across the full project lifecycle in a highly technical engineering environment.
- Previous experience within offshore, subsea, marine, industrial automation, or special-purpose machinery sectors would be highly advantageous.
