Sub Agent Civil Engineering | Somerset | Contract Sub Agent Up to £525 per day (Inside IR35) | Immediate Start | Long-Term Contract
A Sub Agent is required for a long-term, full-time contract based in Somerset, working on a major highways and infrastructure scheme.
The daily rate is between £450 and £525, inside IR35, with an immediate start and works scheduled through to the end of 2027.
Reporting to the Project Manager and Site Agent, the position involves ensuring safe, on-programme delivery to high quality standards.
Daily duties will include managing site teams, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress against schedules, and upholding rigorous safety protocols.
Suited to a civil engineering professional with substantial highways experience, this role demands strong leadership and precise technical knowledge for a leading contractor.
The Role
Working closely with the Project Manager and Site Agent, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of a major highways and infrastructure project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
You'll be responsible for coordinating site operations, managing subcontractors, maintaining strong client relationships and supporting the engineering and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the successful delivery of major civil engineering projects.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
- Liaise with clients, designers and key stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and identify project risks and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate site records and reporting.
- Ensure Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards are maintained.
- Support planning, programming and project delivery.
- Requirement
- Previous experience as a Sub Agent within civil engineering.
- Highways and infrastructure experience.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness.
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
