Job Overview

The Student Safety Team Member role in Durham involves working full‑time overnight shifts from 10pm to 7am, five days per week, on a contract that extends until 30 September 2026, with the possibility of renewal.

Pay and hours: £16.66 per hour, 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a positive brand ambassador and create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for students.
  • Maintain consistent, high‑quality service throughout the night.
  • Respond to emergencies and vulnerable situations, including noise complaints, lock‑outs, fire alarms, flooding, and system failures.
  • Work with security to protect residents and the property.
  • Keep shared and communal areas clean and tidy.
  • Support other accommodation sites during major incidents when required.
  • Build relationships with students and signpost them to appropriate support services.
  • Respond to individual student needs and elevate welfare concerns when necessary.
  • Act on student feedback and resolve or escalated issues promptly.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Complete required safety checks and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean, well‑maintained environment.
