Pertemps Manchester seeks an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver for a temp to perm vacancy in Trafford Park. This warehouse position pays £14.33 hourly, rising to £19.04 for overtime beyond 48 hours weekly. Shifts follow a 4-on 4-off rotation, alternating two days (7am–7pm) then two nights (7pm–7am). Duties include safely operating counterbalance trucks and other handling equipment, loading and unloading vehicles, plus moving and organising stock. Candidates need proven forklift experience, a valid licence, and confidence working rotating shifts. After twelve successful weeks, a permanent contract may follow. Reliable attendance and adherence to site safety rules are essential throughout. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced forklift driver looking for Temp to Perm full time work within a fast-paced warehouse environment. There is also the potential for a long-term position following a successful temporary period of 12 weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate counterbalance forklifts and other MHE .
- Load and unload goods safely and efficiently.
- Move and organise stock within the warehouse using Counterbalance truck.
- Operate double pallet forklifts where required (Training will be provided).
- Pick, pack and stage customer orders.
- Complete routine forklift and equipment safety checks.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
- Follow all company health & safety procedures.
- Ensure stock is handled accurately and safely at all times.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Counterbalance FLT Licence – Essential
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Experience operating a double pallet forklift is preferred, although training may be provided.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Break Information
75 minutes total — 3 × 15-minute breaks and 1 × 30-minute break.

All successful candidates will be required to complete an FLT assessment and site induction before starting work.
