The Storeman role in Slough involves managing the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials for a leading global paints and coatings company. This temporary position pays up to £16.75 per hour and runs for 12 months, with a potential to become permanent. The role requires working 37.5 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 8am‑4:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Take delivery of goods and supplies, checking for damage or missing items.
- Store goods appropriately and pick & pack orders for dispatch.
- Move stock by hand, lifting equipment, or forklift.
- Load goods for dispatch and liaise with third‑party vendors regarding late or incomplete deliveries.
- Maintain agreed levels of stock for ancillary equipment, spectrophotometry holders, colorant crates, lid presses, computers, peripherals, and refurbished components.
- Update SAP and ensure compliance with company Health, Safety, Environment, and Security guidelines, processes, and the Code of Conduct.
Requirements:
- Minimum GCSE/O Level educational standard or equivalent.
- Practical problem‑solving, planning, prioritisation, and accurate data recording skills.
- Intermediate IT skills, good communication, time‑management, interpersonal, self‑motivated, and self‑disciplined.
- Flexible and adaptable approach, good administration skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Must have an FLT counterbalance licence or be willing to take the assessments to obtain one.
