Overview
Environmental Services Cleaner based in Stockport, full-time with a salary of £26,200 per annum.
You will maintain high cleanliness standards across Onward properties, completing scheduled tasks and responding to ad hoc requests.
The role offers 32 days annual leave plus bank holidays, totalling 40 days paid holiday per year.

Role purpose / About the Role
We are looking for a Cleaning Operative to work across Handforth / Macclesfield / Stockport / Wilmslow.
A full UK driving license is required.
The role aims to provide high standards of cleanliness in scheme communal areas / communal properties by cleaning to agreed standards.
There may be out-of-hours work required occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning general duties at locations including sheltered/supported/specialist living schemes, blocks of flats, and communal areas, in accordance with the operational cleaning specification and quality assurance work schedules.
- Vacuuming, mopping, wiping, dusting, cleaning internal windows/frames and sills, and emptying communal bins, ensuring areas are safe and signed off.
- Carry out ad hoc cleaning tasks as required.
- Use internal software to complete work records.
- Handle and remove discarded syringes and needles and clean hazardous substances only when trained to do so.
- Order and restock cleaning supplies and sundries as required.
- Health & Safety / Compliance checks and minor maintenance: use of cleaning materials in accordance with COSHH regulations and PPE; conduct water flushing and temperature checks; carry out fire alarm testing as scheduled; daily van and equipment checks as required.
- Report repairs and undertake minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs; attend training courses/seminars as requested.
Requirements
- Essential: Experience delivering cleaning services to a variety of customers; ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team; use of different cleaning methods and equipment (mopping, dusting, wiping, buffing); ability to follow procedures and prioritise tasks; willingness to work in various areas and duties; good customer service and communication skills (written and verbal); ability to provide performance data.
- Desirable: Use of electronic devices (smartphone/tablet); experience carrying out facilities checks such as water testing and alarm testing; knowledge of hygiene and COSHH regulations; hygiene certificate (Desirable).
