A Maths Teacher position is available in Hastings, offered on a contract basis with temporary, flexible hours. The daily rate ranges from £130 to £180 for supply cover, with pay to scale for longer assignments. This role, starting September 2026, involves teaching mathematics across secondary school classrooms in Hastings and nearby areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering lessons
- Managing classes
- Supporting student progress
- Teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4
- Teaching towards GCSE where required
- Delivering engaging and well-planned lessons
- Following school schemes of work and existing lesson plans
- Planning and preparing lessons for longer-term placements
- Assessing student progress
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning
- Supporting students of different abilities
We are looking for:
- QTS or recognised teaching experience
- Secondary Maths teaching experience
- Strong subject knowledge
- Confidence teaching through to GCSE
- Effective classroom management
- A positive and professional approach
- The ability to build strong relationships with students
