Senior Hardware Systems Engineer Portsmouth Mostly on site 12 months £60.69 per hour (Inside IR35) What you'll be doing: · Generation of design, test and installation documentation · Design proving, including environmental and Electro Magnetic Compatibility aspects · Investigation and resolution of design issues · Design and build of the electrical and hardware system to achieve successful acceptance (FAT(E)) · Support to development systems · Successful installation and setting to work of hardware on ship · Understanding of Configuration Control and baselines Your skills and experiences: Essential: * An Engineer with experience in a hardware domain * Knowledge and experience of equipment development using Commercially available Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware components, preferably with an understanding of blade and PC technology. * A can-do, enthusiastic attitude and enquiring mind with a flexible approach & openness to involvement in all aspects of the team's work Desirable: * Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment * Experience with COTS enclosures (e.g. units, cabinets), design, wiring schedules, power distribution etc. would be especially desirable. * Experience working with the Defence sector Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects.
