This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based in Portsmouth.
Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
- You will be responsible for providing pre-employment medicals and assessments.
- Undertake health surveillance screening, including audiometry, lung function testing, drug and alcohol testing, HAVS assessments.
- Undertake health screening procedures, including blood pressure and urinalysis.
- Ensure all information recorded appropriately.
- Provide advice on occupational health and wellbeing.
Knowledge:
- Previous Occupational Health Technician or Physiologist experience is essential.
- Ideally your experience will be within the heavy industry sector.
- Personable, confident and able to work autonomously.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Have a good understanding of the workplace that the individuals are going into, or have come from.
Skills:
- Ability to view individuals holistically and look at the impact of health on work and work on health for all.
- Decisions about support/care/onward referral are often needed.
- Achievement of KPIs and health surveillance compliance.
- Assistance with any OH audits and inspections.
- SHE Level 2 Plan.
- At all times taking into account professional nursing accountability.
- Create and maximise effective working relationships with all individuals; customers and stakeholders.
- Respond to customer requests and deliver in the best way to meet business and customer requirements.
- Seek and review customer feedback and demonstrate a proactive response to it.
- Friendly approach.
- Professional and positive healthcare and SHE attitude to work.
