Overview
Berkeley Scott is recruiting a Sous Chef for a 4-star hotel in Glasgow.
This permanent, full-time position offers a 40-hour working week with service charge and benefits including discounted rooms, food and leisure, plus complimentary meals on duty.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the executive chef, managing kitchen operations, upholding impeccable presentation, and maintaining rigorous hygiene and safety standards.
- Oversee food preparation and stock control to ensure consistent quality across all service periods.
- Assist in training and developing new kitchen team members, providing guidance and feedback to enhance skills.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and execute menus that meet high standards of quality and culinary excellence.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and served according to recipes and portioning guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering and receiving food and supplies to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef in cost control and budget management, making recommendations for improvement.
