I'm working with an established electrical engineering business that is looking to strengthen its project team with experienced Project Managers from a Transmission & Distribution background. Substation build experience is essential.
You'll need a proven track record of delivering HV/EHV substation projects, with a good understanding of the technical, commercial and construction aspects involved. The role will involve:
- Managing HV/EHV substation projects from mobilisation through to completion
- Taking responsibility for programme, budget, resources and delivery
- Managing site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Coordinating electrical, civil, engineering and commissioning activities
- Reviewing designs, drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Managing project risks, change and commercial issues
- Working closely with clients, DNOs, consultants and other stakeholders
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification
- Supporting procurement and subcontractor management
- Providing technical support and resolving issues throughout delivery
- Managing project reporting and progress updates
Essential experience:
- Strong background in Transmission & Distribution
- Proven experience delivering substation construction/build projects
- Experience across HV/EHV electrical infrastructure
- Strong understanding of substation construction and electrical installation
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong programme, budget and project management experience
- Comfortable working with clients and senior stakeholders
- Understanding of H&S, quality and compliance requirements within power infrastructure
- Experience working across 132kV and above would be particularly relevant, as would experience with National Grid, DNOs, ICPs or major electrical contractors.
