As an HGV Class1 Day Driver based in Sheffield, you will join Pertemps Sheffield on a full‑time, ongoing contract with a leading utilities firm.
This role offers Monday‑to‑Friday day shifts, with no weekend or bank holiday work required.
The pay rate is £17.93 per hour, rising to £20.93 for overtime after 40hours weekly.
Responsibilities
- Deliver goods, materials, plant and equipment to operational sites.
- Perform stock checks, replenish engineer lockers and safe loading/unloading of the vehicle.
- Carry out stock checks and put away stock at various locations.
- Load and unload the vehicle safely.
- Deliver materials and equipment to live operational sites.
- Complete vehicle checks and ensure all paperwork is accurate.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within stores and vehicles.
- Provide a high standard of customer service to engineers and internal stakeholders.
- Comply with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies at all times.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Ideally 2years of Class1 driving experience.
- No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Experience securing loads safely.
- Good understanding of Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph legislation.
- Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, proactive and safety‑conscious approach to work.
- No ADR licence required.
