As Control Room Shift Manager in Sheffield, you will lead operations within a state‑of‑the‑art Remote Operations Centre, overseeing the safe and efficient running of large‑scale production facilities. This permanent, full‑time position involves a rotating pattern of days and nights, requiring strong leadership and sound judgement under pressure. You will supervise a team, monitor complex processes, and respond decisively to operational incidents. Previous experience within a control room or process environment is essential.

The successful candidate will receive a basic salary of £50,000, a £12,000 shift allowance, and an annual bonus, alongside genuine prospects for career progression within a global industry leader.

The Role:

  • Monitoring and controlling plant performance across a 24‑hour operation
  • Responding to alarms, process disturbances and operational issues to maintain safe and efficient production
  • Investigating faults using plant data and performance trends to identify root causes and implement improvements
  • Managing plant start‑ups and operational changes to ensure customer demand is met while optimising efficiency and controlling costs
  • Carrying out performance reviews and recommending improvements to maximise plant reliability and productivity
  • Ensuring the highest standards of process safety, compliance and operational excellence are maintained at all times

About You:

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment and is passionate about continuous improvement. You’ll ideally have:

  • An HNC (or above) in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a similar discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Previous experience working within a control room or process operations environment
  • Experience using industrial control systems such as SCADA, PCS7 Siemens or similar
  • Strong analytical and fault‑finding skills with the ability to make sound operational decisions under pressure
  • A proactive, safety‑first approach with excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Plant commissioning experience would be advantageous but is not essential
