About the role
As a Catering Assistant in Sheffield, you will join Berkeley Scott’s temporary staffing pool, providing support across schools, care homes, and event venues. Your duties will cover basic food preparation, serving customers, and maintaining clean kitchen and dining areas. We offer flexible daytime, evening, or term-time shifts to match your schedule, with weekly pay and regular assignments. The pay rate is competitive and dependent on placement. Immediate starts are available for suitable candidates across the city.

Your Duties
- Supporting Chefs, Catering Managers and kitchen teams
- Preparing and serving hot and cold food
- Serving pupils, residents, customers and guests
- Assisting with events, functions and hospitality services
- Setting up and clearing down catering areas
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety
What we are looking for
- Previous experience as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or Food Service Assistant
- Experience within schools, care homes, events or contract catering is advantageous
- Food Safety and Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete Enhanced DBS with child barring, or willingness to obtain, for school-based roles
- Strong communication, customer service and organisational skills
- A reliable, professional and flexible approach to work
