About The Role
This is a field‑based Service and Installation Engineer position covering designated mandates in the North West of England/South London, reporting directly to the Contracts Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs, replacing components as required.
- Ensure attendance on site is timely for onsite inductions.
- Manage and deliver service, maintenance and installation projects.
- Fault find, test and service company and other electromechanical products.
- Provide accurate reports for completed service, maintenance and installation jobs in a timely manner.
- Liaise with the Service/Contracts/Maintenance teams to ensure all jobs are completed on time and to the Company’s quality standards.
- Liaise with customers in a professional manner to ensure satisfaction.
- Liaise with the technical and production departments.
- Complete necessary documentation accurately.
- Manage van stock to ensure sufficient levels for required works.
- Ensure vehicle is cleaned, serviced regularly and road‑legal.
- Ensure timesheets are completed accurately and sent to accounts before 10:00am on Monday for the previous week.
- Comply with all Health & Safety requirements and best working practices.
- Comply with all company rules, regulations and legal requirements.
- Over‑night stays may be required and travel to other UK locations may be necessary.

- Minimal supervision needed with self‑driven performance to deadlines.

- Strong communicator, confident liaising with clients, engineers and staff internally.
Qualifications
- Electrical certification, including not limited to 17th/18th Edition.
- City & Guilds Level3 in electrical installations (or equivalent).
- Previous experience within the gate and barrier industry.
- Experience with access controls.
- Must be able to work weekends on a rota basis, carrying out contractual installations as required.
- Subject to enhanced DBS check.
