The Senior Civil Engineer position is based in South East London, with a permanent contract and a negotiable salary between £40,000 and £65,000 per annum, plus pension benefits. This role involves joining a consulting engineering firm, working on drainage and infrastructure projects across the region.
Responsibilities include:
- Flood risk assessments
- Highway design
- Calculations, specifications, drawings
- Civils 3D modelling
- Site visits and inspections
Candidates should hold a BSc, MEng, or BEng in Civil Engineering and be IEng qualified with the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent. The working pattern is full-time, requiring a professional who can manage varied technical tasks and deliver high-quality outcomes on challenging schemes.
The Client: Our client is a successful, fairly large firm of engineering consultants.
The Candidate: You will need to have the following:
- BSc, MEng, or BEng in Civil Engineering
- IEng qualified with the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent, or already chartered with ICE
- Several years working as a Civil Engineer for a firm of consulting engineers
- Good all-round civil engineering and infrastructure experience, having worked on flood risk assessments, drainage, and highways projects
- Up to date with various UK regulations including Manual for Streets, DMRB, and Design and Construction Guidance
- Experience working closely with highways authorities and similar
- Some experience in the use of InfoDrainage and Autodesk Civils 3D or similar
- Experience in the preparation and submission of applications to statutory bodies and water companies for Section 104/106/185/50 agreements, Land Drainage Consent applications, and FRAP and EA Environmental Permits
- Site visits and attendance at meetings with architects, planners, engineers, local authorities
- Ideally working towards becoming chartered or keen to do so, with support towards chartership
A U.K. passport and driving licence is required as you will need to be able to get National Security Vetting CTC / Level 1B clearance.
Salary is negotiable between £40,000 to £65,000 depending on your level of experience and qualifications, plus pension and other benefits.
