Are you a Senior Authorised Person looking for your next contract? Have you got experience working with a variety of DNOs? If so, please read on...

Core duties include:

  • Full SAP responsibilities (not just switching), including:
  • HV switching, isolations, earthing, LOTO Permits to Work / Sanctions for Test Safety from the system (incl. SF6 GIS)
  • Review/approval of RAMS, switching programmes, energisation plans
  • Coordination with DNO/ICP, EPC and commissioning teams
  • Grid connection testing (SCADA coordination) and G99 compliance
  • HV troubleshooting (relays, switchgear, protection systems)

Essential requirements:

  • 33 kV SAP authorisation (mandatory) with recognised HV switching competency
  • Proven experience under UK HV Safety Rules
  • Authorised by / acceptable to relevant DNOs (e.g. Northern Powergrid, UK Power Networks, National Grid ESO) and able to operate under DNO/ICP/site rules
  • CSCS/ECS, HV medical, HVSAP, First Aid
  • Working knowledge of CDM 2015

Desirable (not essential) requirements:

  • 66 kV / 132 kV authorisations
  • AP15 / Authorised Person (HV)
  • IOSH qualification
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • NEBOSH
  • OEM/GIS (SF6) training
  • Strong fault-finding and experience with complex/staged energisation (Solar + BESS)
