SEND Class Teacher – Primary Complex Needs

The SEND Class Teacher position in Birmingham involves leading a primary class for pupils with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition and physical disabilities.

This full-time role offers a daily rate between £168 and £235.

You will plan and deliver tailored lessons, using specialist resources to support communication and learning.

The school provides excellent facilities and a team of experienced teaching assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching a small class of primary-aged pupils with complex learning needs
  • Planning and delivering highly differentiated and engaging lessons
  • Supporting communication, independence and personal development
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and specialist professionals
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and personalised learning programmes
  • Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
  • Building strong relationships with families and external agencies

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching children with SEND or complex needs
  • A strong understanding of Autism, communication needs and personalised learning
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • A patient, creative and nurturing approach
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs succeed
