I'm looking for a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join a software solutions business based in Rugby. This is a key technical role responsible for driving automation, improving deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and resilience of both cloud and on-premise systems. You will play a central role in enabling continuous delivery, advancing DevSecOps practices, and supporting the ongoing evolution of our technology platforms in line with business growth, operational needs, and security standards. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working across infrastructure and development teams, and contributing to modern, secure engineering practices in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- CI/CD & Automation
- Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test and deployment processes
- Develop scripts, tooling and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention
- Support GitOps and modern deployment strategies across development and operational environments
- Infrastructure & Platform Management
- Administer, maintain and optimise Azure and on-premise infrastructure environments
- Support containerised and orchestrated platforms using Docker and Kubernetes
- Design and manage secure, scalable Microsoft-based infrastructure solutions
- Monitoring, Reliability & Support
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting solutions across applications and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot deployment and platform issues in collaboration with Software Development and IT Support teams
- Respond to incidents and service requests in line with ITIL processes and service expectations
- Security & Compliance
- Embed security best practices into infrastructure, deployment pipelines and operational processes
- Ensure systems and environments meet ISO, compliance and security requirements
- Support secure application lifecycle management and platform resilience initiatives
About You
You will be a technically capable and collaborative DevOps professional with strong troubleshooting skills and a passion for automation, reliability and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience in a DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering role
- Experience working within security-focused or highly regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI and Azure DevOps
- Experience managing cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP also considered)
- Strong understanding of networking, security and system administration principles
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python or PowerShell
- Familiarity with Agile, DevOps and GitOps methodologies
- Ability to design and manage complex Microsoft-based infrastructure environments
- Strong communication, documentation and problem-solving skills
- Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance
Desirable
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Azure or DevOps certifications
- Experience replicating customer environments for testing and validation
- Full UK driving licence
