Position Overview
The NICEIC Qualified Supervisor role in Tunbridge Wells oversees quality, compliance, and technical standards for commercial electrical installations in a permanent full‑time position.
The role requires travel to projects across London and the Home Counties, with a working pattern of approximately three days in the office and two days on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the company’s NICEIC Qualified Supervisor, ensuring compliance across all electrical installations.
- Carry out regular quality inspections on active commercial projects throughout the construction programme.
- Conduct inspections following second fix to ensure compliance with BS7671 and project specifications.
- Review temporary electrical installations, their certification, and assess suitability for alteration, additions and removals.
- Review electrical certification for cable types, protective devices, equipment schedules and installation details.
- Inspect distribution boards, containment, field terminations and carry out spot checks on installed equipment.
- Produce comprehensive written inspection reports, including findings on:
- BS5839 and reference relevant regulations.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams to ensure corrective actions are completed efficiently.
- Attend projects throughout the delivery programme as required.
- Review site health and safety arrangements for electrical works.
- Verify operatives hold appropriate competencies and qualifications such as ECS, IPAF, PASMA and other relevant accreditations.
- Assess working practices to ensure compliance with current legislation and company standards.
- Liaise with client representatives and site managers, proactively resolving quality or installation concerns.
- Provide technical advice to Project Managers, Site Supervisors and Contracts Directors.
- Assist with electrical design queries and installation compliance.
- Produce electrical designs using Amtech software and manual calculations where required.
- Support lighting and electrical system design for commercial fit‑out projects.
- Assist with client complaints, technical investigations and compliance queries.
- Keep up to date with current regulations and industry best practice.

You will enjoy working closely with operational teams while maintaining high standards of compliance across multiple projects.
You should have
- Robust knowledge of commercial electrical systems.
- Experience managing multiple live schemes (up to 15).
- Quality management expertise.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Knowledge of BS7671, BS5266, BS5839 and related regulations.
- Experience using electrical design software such as Amtech.
