Job Overview
As a Class1 HGV Driver based in Rickmansworth, you will represent Thames Water on the road, acting as the public face of the business.
This full‑time position offers a salary of up to £42,435 per annum and is based at Maple Lodge STW.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a fleet of potable water tankers to support planned and reactive work.
- Take water samples before loading and discharging into hydrants or reservoirs.
- Drive both HGV Class1 vehicles (manual and automatic gearboxes) and support vehicles such as welfare vans.
- Adhere to processes and procedures and provide first‑class customer service.
- Act as an ambassador for Thames Water and uphold company values on the road.
- Shift Pattern & Salary
- 38.5 hours per week – 4 on / 4 off (Days & Nights): £42,435 per annum
- 38.5 hours per week – 4 on / 4 off (Monday to Sunday Day shifts): £37,337 per annum
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience as a Class1 HGV Driver.
- Happy working on a rotational shift pattern, including days and nights.
- No more than 6 penalty points and no DR or IN convictions on your licence.
- Full driver CPC and a valid Driver Tachograph card.
- Clear knowledge of Transport Law and the Road Traffic Act.
- Working knowledge of Drivers' Hours rules and Working Time regulations.
