Removals Assistant

Role Summary

As a Removals Assistant based in Aylesford, you will support customers with house and business relocations by packing, loading, and transporting their possessions securely. This full‑time, permanent position pays £13.50 per hour.

Your duties include carefully handling fragile items, safely loading and unloading furniture, and ensuring a professional service throughout each move. You will need reliability, physical fitness, and a careful approach to handling belongings. Prior experience in removals or as a furniture mover is beneficial but not essential. This role suits someone who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service while working efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Pack and unpack customers’ belongings, including fragile items.
• Safe loading and unloading of furniture and goods as a van loader or loader.
• Assist drivers as a driver’s mate during transport between locations.
• Handle furniture and personal items carefully to prevent damage.
• Follow correct manual handling and health & safety procedures.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service during relocations.

Requirements

• Experience as a Removals Porter, Furniture Mover, Moving Operative, Removal Worker, or Driver’s Mate is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to perform physical work, including heavy lifting.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional approach.
• Willingness to learn packing and handling techniques.
