Job Overview
As a Treasury Analyst at Pertemps Thames Water in Reading, you will support front office liquidity management for a group with debt obligations exceeding £14bn, annual interest costs of around £500m, and a derivatives portfolio valued over £10bn.
You will prepare weekly and three‑month cash forecasts, engage with external stakeholders, and help shape the Treasury team’s direction.
Location & Working Pattern
Base location: Reading – Hybrid working pattern of 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Daily cash management activities, including money‑market funds, deposit transactions and facility drawdowns for the Group.
- Preparation of weekly and three‑month rolling cash forecasts and support for longer‑term forecasting.
- Counterparty exposure and risk analysis.
- Create deals on the Treasury Management System.
- Prepare periodic covenant compliance certificates.
- Identify and implement process efficiencies and automation using the Treasury Management System, including transaction inputting, reporting and market data uploads.
- Liaise with Treasury colleagues to ensure transactions are recorded and accounted for properly.
- Ensure all activities comply with treasury policy and procedures, developing new procedures and documentation where required.
- Support the Assistant Treasurer with projects, audits and other stakeholder information on the debt/derivatives portfolio.
- Assist with other tasks, ad‑hoc activities or analysis as required.
Qualifications
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of debt and derivatives transactions, including index‑linked instruments.
- Experience or knowledge of treasury functions.
- Strong relationship‑building and team‑working abilities; effective communicator.
- Excellent MS Excel skills and familiarity with Treasury Management Systems.
- Part or fully qualified finance professional.
