Overview
Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor – Reading, permanent position. Leading Tier One contractor, salary £75,000‑£85,000 plus additional package. Valuation and commercial management on high‑profile projects (£15m‑£50m) under JCT contract.
Responsibilities
- Maximise commercial position and protect contractual interests.
- Maintain client relationships and ensure compliance with governance and procedural requirements.
- Lead valuation processes and develop initial project budgets with Senior Commercial Manager.
- Ensure insurance arrangements, procurement routes and selection of subcontractors.
- Prepare and monitor bid package tender schedules, chair meetings with design team and subcontractors.
- Manage change process with the extended team.
Qualifications
- Extensive main contracting experience, especially on projects £5M+.
- Proven commercial role experience with fit‑out teams.
- In‑depth knowledge of JCT form of contracts.
- Strong communication skills, ability to build trust and confidence.
- Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
