Pertemps is supporting Royal Mail with the recruitment of a Postal Delivery Driver in Reading. This temporary position offers Β£13.69 per hour for 30 hours weekly, scheduled Monday to Friday with weekend availability, on shifts from 11am to 5pm. The role begins immediately.
You will start each shift at the local delivery office, sorting mail before loading your vehicle. Daily duties involve using a handheld device for navigation and signature capture, delivering letters and parcels by foot or van, and walking up to eight miles. Physical fitness is essential, as you will handle mail bags weighing 16kg and parcels up to 20kg. Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently outdoors are required.

Key Responsibilities

- Lift and carry mail bags (up to 16kg) and parcels (up to 20kg)
- Use delivery trolleys when required
Requirements
- Full UK manual driving licence (maximum 6 points; clean licence preferred) Need to have held your license for 6 months.
- Previous delivery or driving experience is beneficial but not essential
- Excellent time management and customer service skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
