As a Charges Coordinator in Reading, you will manage charges from Highway Authorities for Thames Water.

Your role involves investigating each case to determine validity, processing invoices accurately within set timescales, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

You'll resolve queries to minimise unnecessary costs, liaise with organisations to ensure only legitimate payments are made, and identify trends to reduce future expenses.

Maintaining precise records is essential.

This full-time position offers a salary between £26,700 and £33,380, reflecting your skills and experience.

What you will be doing

  • Investigating and validating charges received from Highway Authorities using a range of internal systems.
  • Processing invoices accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Working with internal teams and contractors to resolve queries and minimise unnecessary costs.
  • Liaising with external organisations to ensure only valid charges are paid.
  • Identifying trends and areas where improvements can help reduce future costs.
  • Maintaining accurate records while managing a busy workload across multiple systems.

Base location: Clearwater Court - hybrid working with a minimum of 1 day a week in the office.

Our office is located in Reading town centre, just a 2-minute walk from Reading train station.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (36 hours per week).

  • Previous background in a customer service or administration role where accuracy and prioritisation were key, or experience working with invoices, charges or financial administration are desirable.
  • Experience using Salesforce, SAP, Street Manager or GIS would be highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of streetworks or highways processes would be advantageous.
