As an Air Conditioning Engineer, you will deliver service and maintenance across commercial sites from your Reading base. This permanent position offers £40,000 per annum plus a van, fuel card, and door-to-door travel pay. Your duties involve planned preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and reactive repairs on various AC systems. We seek engineers with strong refrigerant handling expertise and a full driving licence. The working pattern covers standard weekday hours, with occasional London travel.

The company works predominantly along the M4 corridor, with only occasional projects in London, and has built an impressive portfolio of commercial clients across the education, leisure, and office sectors.

The air conditioning division is still developing, giving the successful engineer a genuine opportunity to take ownership, influence the direction of the division, and play a key role in its future success.

The Role involves carrying out service, maintenance, and reactive works across a range of commercial sites, focusing on planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and breakdowns, with occasional split-system installation work when required. You will work alongside an existing multi-skilled engineer, forming a dedicated two-person AC team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial air conditioning systems
  • Attend reactive maintenance and repair call-outs
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective fault finding
  • Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime
  • Complete occasional split-system installations
  • Identify and report any further works or remedial requirements
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with relevant industry standards and health and safety requirements
  • Complete service reports and relevant documentation accurately
  • Maintain strong relationships with commercial clients and provide excellent customer service
  • Work independently while taking ownership of assigned jobs and workload

Candidate Requirements:

  • FGAS qualification
  • Proven experience in air conditioning service and maintenance
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience
  • Good breakdown and reactive maintenance experience
  • Experience working within commercial environments
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • A professional and reliable approach
  • A Full UK Driving Licence

Salary and Benefits:
