The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

Preston Based (Mainly remote with 1-2 days per month on site) £511.87 per day Umbrella Inside IR35 12 Month Contract initially. This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based in Preston. Mainly remote with travel to site 1-2 days per month. Also be available as and when needed for meetings etc.

Core Duties

  • Perform BA duties on projects as the sole BA, and/or support work-packages on a larger project, which may involve working with a Senior Business Analyst.
  • Support the Project Manager in identifying project stakeholders, defining the project scope and its business justification.
  • Provide the Project Manager with estimates for BA tasks for further project phases and status reports for BA activities.
  • Elicit, analyse and gain approval for Critical Success Factors and business requirements.
  • Plan and lead workshops with stakeholders at all levels, across complex stakeholder organisations, for requirements and business process capture and documentation.
  • Develop and gain approval for system requirements (functional and non-functional).
  • Quality assure design documentation to assure traceability to requirements.
  • Support development teams, third party suppliers and test communities by acting as the voice of the customer on projects.
  • Support business change plans (including communications and training approaches and schedules) and support their implementation working with business change leads and the transition team.
  • Support continuous improvement through feedback on the existing processes.

Knowledge

  • Have experience of eliciting and documenting requirements for technical projects, including leading workshops for requirements and business process capture.
  • Have demonstrable experience of working within a structured and well-governed IT Project environment.
  • Have demonstrable evidence of analysing and documenting complex business processes.
  • End to end experience of the project lifecycle.
  • Have experience of delivering work streams across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Have proven experience interacting directly with end users and technical project.
  • Experience of Stage Gate delivery processes such as PRINCE2.
  • Experience of non-PRINCE 2 delivery methodologies e.g. agile.

Skills

  • A passion for your chosen specialist field and the ability to plan and articulate the BA and Business change management tasks and activities required during project delivery.
  • Plan and effectively lead workshops with stakeholders at all levels and across complex stakeholder organisations, for requirements and business process capture and documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly process aware, with evidence of actively contributing to continuous improvement of project processes.
  • Confidence to challenge the status quo through bold behaviours.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure and independently to meet deadlines and manage business expectations.
  • Understanding of IT architecture concepts, and comfortable working with the technical and architecture communities.

Qualification

  • Educated to degree level, preferably in a related discipline.
  • Industry recognised professional qualifications eg BCS Diploma, Lean six sigma.
