A Structural Engineer is sought by a multi-disciplinary property consultancy to join its established Plymouth office on a permanent basis.
Working alongside engineers and consultants from various fields, the successful candidate will contribute to innovative, sustainable, and cost-efficient building designs.
Projects span education, aerospace, commercial, residential, and manufacturing sectors, with a focus on developments across the Midlands.
Responsibilities include delivering outline, scheme, and detailed engineering designs.
A salary of £35,000 to £40,000 is offered, complemented by hybrid working and additional benefits.

We are delighted to be supporting with an multidisciplined, multi-office property consultancy in its search for an experienced structural engineer to join it’s regional office in the Plymouth area.
This office has an established group of engineers and consultants of various disciplines.
This person will be work closely with other staff to achieve innovative, sustainable and cost-efficient buildings.
Structures come from a variety of sectors include, education, aerospace, commercial, residential and manufacturing.
This office typically services clients and developments from across the midlands meaning you will have the opportunity to have a direct impact on your local community.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to outline, scheme and detailed engineering designs across a range of projects, as appropriate.
- Undertake detailed design calculations and develop proficiency in the latest design software.
- Prepare design programmes for the delivery of project outputs.
- Produce project reports, specifications and general correspondence as required.
- Carry out site surveys and inspections, producing clear, logically structured reports with appropriate recommendations.
- Review calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other project deliverables to ensure they meet the required quality standards before issue.
- Liaise with internal and external members of the design and construction teams, representing the engineering team professionally.
- Visit sites during the construction phase to monitor progress and provide technical advice to contractors.
- Comply with Ridge document management and quality assurance procedures.
- Support colleagues across the wider team and other disciplines when required, particularly to help meet project deadlines.
- Keey requirements
- A BEng (Hons) degree in Civil or Structural Engineering at 2:1 or above, or a higher qualification such as an MEng (Hons) or MSc.
- A sound foundation of engineering and/or site-based work experience.
- A good fundamental understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, including the Eurocodes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A commitment to continuing professional development and actively working towards a recognised professional qualification.
- A current UK driving licence.
- Experience using Auto CAD and Revit would be desirable.
