Join a world-renowned aerospace and defence organisation as an Associate Mechanical Operator in RAF Marham on a full-time onsite 37 hours compressed over 4 days. This advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for an Associate Mechanical Operator to add to their talented, hardworking team in RAF Marham on an initial 12 months contract.

The rate per hour: £28.11 per hour inside IR35 / umbrella.

The role:

  • Will carry out metalworking & corrosion remediation activities on aircraft.
  • Role will be working within a close-knit team in a multi-skilled / multi-disciplined environment carrying out required repairs and maintenance activities.
  • At this level, the post holder is competent to work to basic maintenance instructions, has a working appreciation of the approved data set and works in accordance with the organisation's AMC documentation set.

Duties:

  • Act as a point of contact for the majority of day-to-day advice on export control regulatory and procedure requirements (UK, US and other jurisdictions where applicable).
  • Assist with export control investigations, disclosure letters, corrective actions and support root cause analysis and lessons learned reviews.
  • Assist, at times with guidance, with risk, opportunity and site governance management using formal business methodologies.
  • Lead/support the planning, execution and capturing results of internal audits and compliance checks.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience utilising manual and pneumatic tooling.
  • Experience of preparing metal and/or composite surfaces and structure for repair.
  • Experience of honing, drilling and reaming of structures and/or metalwork.
  • Experience removing and installing various types of fasteners.
  • Experience with application of adhesive bonding.
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering, or Military equivalent Apprenticeship.
  • Qualifications at NVQ Level 2 (minimum).
