Teach South is recruiting a Performing Arts Teacher (Dance & Drama) for a secondary school in Rye, East Sussex. The role is available full‑time or part‑time on a contract basis, starting in September 2026. Salary is on the MPS1–UPS3 scale, from £31,000 to £51,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Dance and Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical and inclusive lessons that encourage creativity, confidence and self‑expression.
- Support extracurricular activities, school productions and performances.
- Work collaboratively within a dedicated Performing Arts department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), or unqualified teachers with relevant industry or coaching experience.
- Graduate status or relevant performing arts background is desirable.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
- A passion for Dance, Drama and for inspiring young people.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills, or a willingness to develop these through support and training.
- A positive, enthusiastic and proactive approach to learning and teaching.
