The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 Β£ per hour.
Preston based, Β£20.59 an hour Umbrella, Inside IR35, 18 Month Contract initially. This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based in Preston. Hybrid working.
Core duties:
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and processing of high volume and complex Payrolls in line with SLAs and HMRC legislation.
- Responsible for logging any advances, errors and overpayments and reporting any known issues/defects to a Payroll Team Manager for timely review.
- Play a key role in ensuring that all work instructions and processes are regularly reviewed and remain compliant with governance and audit procedures.
- Proactively escalate any discrepancies or changes required.
- Support with the continuous improvement initiative, highlighting new ideas and better ways of working.
- Responsible for the regular review of all Finance reconciliation items for your areas of responsibility.
- Support with internal/external Payroll reviews/audits when required.
- Support with the training of team members as and when required.
- Work along our employees, Business stakeholders and internal/external teams in order to promptly resolve any business, employee and Third Party payroll related queries, ensuring the most effective communication method is used.
- Responsible for identifying and taking relevant preventative action to minimise under/over payments.
- Responsible for prioritising your own workload and using initiative and problem solving capabilities to provide a responsive Payroll Service at all times.
- Other duties as defined by the Payroll Team Manager and Business.
Knowledge Skills Qualification:
- 2 Years knowledge and experience of UK Payroll.
- Previous experience of working within a Payroll Service delivering multiple payrolls.
- Payroll legislation knowledge, including an appreciation for future changes and the possible impact of these on a Payroll function.
- Resource Link system or similar desirable.
- PC Literacy, competent in Word, Excel & Outlook.
- Excellent people skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to interrogate and analyse data demonstrating numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to Problem solve using own initiative.
- Collaborative approach with colleagues and stakeholders to build and maintain effective relationships.
- The ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations.
- The ability to communicate at all levels including senior management.
- CIPP or Equivalent Payroll qualification.
- GCSEs or equivalent in Mathematics and English, grades A-C.
