Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for a Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer to add to their talented, hardworking team in Scotstoun on a 12 month contract. Striving for innovation and creativity you can ensure no two days will be the same.
The package:
- Location: Scotstoun - hybrid 1-2 days per week
- Rate: £40.64 per hour inside IR35
- Duration: Initially 12 months likely to extend
The role:
The Senior HVAC Engineer will lead the design, integration, and technical assurance of numerous HVAC systems across a complex marine platform.
Duties:
- Preparing specifications and developing HVAC system designs in accordance with project requirements, technical standards, and quality expectations. This includes Heat Load Calculations, Psychrometrics, Pressure Drop Calculations and Single Line Diagrams (schematics).
- Carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and design criteria.
- Participating in the development, maintenance, and modification of engineering processes and procedures relating to HVAC distribution systems, ensuring they remain aligned with technical developments, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.
Experience:
- Experience in engineering or a defence related industry.
- Has worked in typically two phases of the product lifecycle in the defence/maritime industry.
- Has sufficient experience of the total product lifecycle to enable a good understanding of adjacent phases and through life engineering issues.
- Knowledge of processes and tools used in Marine Engineering.
- Experience in Supplier Management.
- Experience writing technical specifications.
Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite / Autocad / Foran.
- Experience and expertise in marine HVAC systems or Building Services HVAC System design.
- Experience in the design, build, integration, support and operation of Naval ships.
